On June 15th and 16th of 2018, Sheriff's detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau conducted plain clothes surveillance and compliance checks on 81 sex offenders registered in the City of Goleta, City of Carpinteria, Montecito, Summerland and unincorporated areas of Santa Barbara.

The Santa Barbara County Office of Arts and Culture is pleased to announce that Santa Barbara Printmakers Summer Juried Exhibition is on display from June 18 to Oct. 11, 2018 in Channing Peake Gallery, located in the County Administration Building, 105 E. Anapamu St., Santa Barbara.

On Sunday, 6-17-18, at 3:30 PM, deputies assigned to the city of Carpinteria responded to the intersection of Linden Avenue at Ninth Street for a vehicle collision involving two women being hit by a car.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is holding a "Coffee with a Cop" event in Carpinteria on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Lucky Llama Coffeehouse located at 5100 Carpinteria Avenue.

On June 13, 2018, Sheriff's Special Investigations Bureau (SIB) Detectives concluded an investigation into 30-year-old Dylan Sulit-Swalley who was believed to be selling controlled substances in Santa Barbara. Sulit-Swalley was released from Pelican Bay State Prison in 2017 and placed on parole.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on June 9, 2018, four black male adult suspects entered a marijuana cultivation facility in the unincorporated area of Carpinteria. The suspects were detected by onsite security and an alarm was triggered.

The Santa Barbara County Fiscal Year 2018-19 Recommended Balanced Budget of $1.105 billion was adopted by the Board of Supervisors today. Overall, the operating budget reflects an increase of 2.5 percent over the prior year.

Updated interim flood advisory recovery maps from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were released today and are posted online at https://readysbc.org/maps/. The maps will be discussed at a community meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 14 at the County Administration Fourth Floor Hearing Room, 105 E. Anapamu St. The Board of Supervisors will consider adoption of the maps on June 19 at its regular meeting to be held in Santa Maria.

Beginning Friday June 15, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department (SBCFD) will be conducting defensible space inspections. A minimum of 100 feet of defensible space is required around your home in Santa Barbara County.
