The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors will hold a budget hearing beginning at 9 a.m. on June 11, and June 13 if needed, at the County Administration Building, Fourth Floor Hearing Room, 105 East Anapamu Street.

The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department (PHD) has confirmed the first case of measles in the county since 2016. The person identified is a resident of Santa Barbara in his 20s. The individual is considered infectious between May 25, 2019 through June 2, 2019 but has been in isolation since May 29, 2019.

Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that a felony complaint has been filed against Jose Ramirez, 27, of Lompoc, California. Mr. Ramirez is charged with murder, in violation of Penal Code section 187 in connection with the May 19, 2019 death of his infant daughter, Evelyn Ramirez.
