Training

Types of Training

Clinical trainings focus on clinical topics such as co-occurring disorders, writing accurate assessments, and working towards recovery and wellness. Systems trainings include mandatory classes, documentation, consumer and family culture, etc.

Each year Department of Behavioral Wellness staff members are required to take several mandatory trainings. The number and type depend on your job class.  However, every staff member, including volunteers, must complete following courses:

  • Consumer and Family Culture
  • Cultural Competence Elective
  • Code of Conduct
  • HIPAA

To take the HIPAA training, please contact the Department's Privacy Officer, Yvonia Newby ( ynewby@co.santa-barbara.ca.us).

To view upcoming trainings, please visit the Behavioral Wellness training calendar.
