Coastal Resources Enhancement Fund (CREF)

Fisheries Enhancement Fund (FEF)

FEF was established in 1987 to mitigate impacts of offshore oil and gas to commercial fisheries and the local commercial fishing industry. For more information visit the Fisheries Enhancement Fund webpage


Local Fisherman's Contingency Fund 

The 1978 amendments to the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act established the Federal Fishermen's Contingency Fund to reimburse commercial fishermen for lost or damaged fishing gear attributable to offshore oil and gas development. The County of Santa Barbara developed a Local's Fishermen's Contingency Fund in 1988 to compliment the federal fund. For more information visit the Local Fisherman's Contingency Fund webpage


Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) Transportation 

The County of Santa Barbara hired a consultant to conduct a comprehensive risk assessment of transporting locally produced NGLs to three major destinations. Based on these findings the County adopted a resolution in 1993 that requires the implementation of specific measure to reduce the risk to the public of transporting NGLs. Webpage coming soon!
