The half day schedule is suspended until further notice.

Friday 8:00 am–12:00 pm
Notice: Public access to the County Engineering building is temporarily closed; for customers needing to make submittals other than mailing via USPS; complete submittals can be dropped off at 105 East Anapamu Street in the County Administration building lobby where there is a county provided drop box for PublicWorks/CountySurveyor deliveries.
Mail complete initial project submittals via USPS to the County Surveyor Mailing Address. Subsequent submittals should be mailed to the County Surveyor Mailing Address, or can be emailed to
countysurveyor@cosbpw.net
Project reviews will be emailed to customers, and can also be mailed upon request.

If you need your property Surveyed?:
The County Surveyor typically does not perform surveys for private property owners. Private property owners can hire a Professional Land Surveyor that is registered with the State Department of Consumer Affairs, Board for Professional Engineers Land Surveyors and Geologists (BPELSG).

The Division at a Glance
The Surveyor Division is responsible for maintaining accurate land records within the County of Santa Barbara. The Division has six general areas of responsibility:
- Checking and recording subdivision maps and documents.
- Providing survey related data to the general public.
- Conducting field surveys for County projects.
- Providing Right-of-Way information for the Department of Public Works.
- Providing and coordinating Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services, and mapping for the Department of Public Works.
- Administration of various State and local programs.
