Cloud-Storage Provider Settles Consumer Protection Case for $274,000

This morning, Sheriff's Office detectives arrested two employees for suspected crimes committed against inmates while they were in custody. The arrests stem from a lengthy investigation that began in August 2018, with a report from an inmate.

On Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 4:08 p.m., Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 6800-block of Cathedral Oaks Road to investigate a report of suspect associated with a white van that had just exposed himself to a juvenile walking in the area.

At 12:45 this afternoon, Sheriff's Dispatch broadcast a be-on-the-lookout from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) for a vehicle that was stolen from Isla Vista. At 1:37 p.m., a deputy on patrol in the Buellton area received and LoJack alert that the vehicle was nearby.

Construction on the Ashley Road Bridge is complete, and the road is now open to traffic. The $1.8 million bridge connects East Mountain Road to Sycamore Canyon Road and provides essential access to Montecito Fire Department Station #2 and Cold Springs School. Residents, government officials, and local partners gathered on Thursday morning at the bridge to celebrate the project.

The WaterWise Garden Recognition Contest is being launched to promote attractive and water efficient gardens in the County. On Tuesday, February, 11, 2020 at 12:03 in the morning, Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop of a black Chevrolet Equinox traveling northbound on Highway 101 at Casitas Pass. During the stop, deputies searched the vehicle and found nearly one pound of methamphetamine concealed in the dashboard with a replica firearm.

Public's Help Requested in Goleta Hit and Run Investigation

On Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:27 p.m., Sheriff's Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call of an explosion and smoke coming from an apartment in the 3300-block of Orcutt Road. Deputies responded to the residence along with County Fire and American Medical Response (AMR).
