Important Notice Regarding Candidate Filing for the June 7, 2022, Statewide Direct Primary Election:
Candidates for federal and state offices affected by the California Redistricting (U.S. Representative in Congress, Member of the State Assembly, and Member of the Board of Equalization) are advised to visit https://www.wedrawthelinesca.organd review the most up-to-date boundary information prior to circulating Petitions in Lieu of Filing Fee or requesting Nomination Documents.
Candidates county office affected by local redistricting (County Supervisor), are advise to visit https://drawsantabarbaracounty.org and review the most up-to-date boundary information prior to circulating Petitions in Lieu of Filing Fee or requesting Nomination Documents.
Copies of maps of current redistricting boundary information will be available at the counter of the County of Santa Barbara Elections Division Office.
Unofficial Candidate Filing List
The Unofficial Candidate Filing List will be available once the Nomination Period opens on February 14, 2022.
Candidate Filing Guides are prepared to provide candidates with important information. Qualifications, terms of office, proper filing authorities, and deadlines are outlined in the guides for offices coming to election. Participation and compliance with the timelines and filing requirements are the keys to success in the candidate process. Candidate Filing Guides are posted online prior to the Candidate Filing period for the election.

Santa Barbara Elections Main Office - Appointments are available at the Santa Barbara Elections Main Office between 8:30 a.m. to - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
Santa Maria Elections Branch Office - Appointments are available at the Santa Maria Elections Branch Office between 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Please note that during the Candidate Filing Period this office location will not be open to the general public.
NOTE: Appointments must be made 48 hours in advance to ensure staff availability.
Lompoc Elections Branch Office - Candidate Filing is not available at this location.
